As a companion book to View Askew 3D Architecture 1 (Portrait), View Askew 3D Architecture 2 (Landscape) depicts architecture examples in stereoscopic 3D in a landscape or horizontal shape.
In its anaglyph form, 3D is a very good way to represent a three-dimensional world on a two-dimensional page. Buildings exist in a real world, showing height, depth and width. Conventional photographs attempt to give an idea of how a place looks but a sense of depth is missing. Stereography, by using two images merged, duplicates how our two eyes actually see. The missing dimension can effectively be recreated onto a flat page.
In addition, these images from around the 360 degree world are placed by their longitudinal designations, rather than at random. Captioned with their individual numbers, starting at the Prime Meridian (zero) at Greenwich, England, the locations straddle the globe. Heading east until Shanghai, China (121.47 East), the antemeridian (180) is crossed. The very next image is Hawaii, USA, (155.08 West). With this book, the viewer gets a survey of places around the world as well as where they are located. And with the enclosed 3D (red-cyan) glasses, even an extra dimension.
