Description

There are times when you simply want to get away. At these moments, it’s worth thinking of wonderful places at their very best, and imagining being there – perhaps lying on a sandy beach or walking through a tranquil forest.

So we have the book Somewhere to Build a Dream on. Inspired by the song, A Kiss to Build a Dream on, it’s hard to think of a better title for a collection of those idyllic locations of ones dreams. We all need our retreats.

There are lots of books of pretty pictures about beautiful places, but how is it possible to really feel like you’re there? What about with stereo images, no longer the preserve of old-fashioned Victorian black and white photographers, or 50s tacky movies, but now brought effectively into the 21st century?

Requiring nothing more elaborate than a pair of 3D (red-cyan) glasses, included with each book, the effect is amazing. These pictures really do immerse the viewer. The more one looks, the more encompassing they become and soon, it’s virtually as if one is really there. After a while, these dream worlds become almost real, allowing the viewer to escape into them, at least for a little while.
